Richard Corey Harrison aka Big Hoss is an American businessman and reality show celebrity famous for his role in the History TV series Pawn Stars. In Pawn Stars, he is one of the central characters and co-owner of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas.

Early Life and Careers:

Richard Corey Harrison was born in Las Vegas, Nevada on April 27, 1983. He is the co-owner of the world-famous Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas along with his father Rick Harrison.

Corey started to work at his father’s shop at the age of nine and eventually became manager of the shop’s day-to-day operations and 30 of its employees. Since his childhood, Corey was trained by Rick to inherit the shop one day and he created the record for most purchases of anyone in the shop. 

Family and Wife:

Corey is the son of Kim and Rick Harrison and the grandson of Richard Benjamin Harrison, who was the founder of the World Famous Gold & Silver Pawn Shop in Las Vegas. Corey has two brothers, Jake and Adam Harrison, who died on 19/01/2024 after overdoes (according to TMZ).

In 2009, Corey married his childhood girlfriend Charlene but divorced in 2015 due to some unknown reason. Charlene also worked at the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop when they were married. Charlene is an entrepreneur herself, and she owns a small business, “Sweet Tempered Store” which sells fashion accessories.

Following his divorce in 2015, Corey married his second wife Korina “Kiki” Harrison on May 26, 2017. But unfortunately, their marriage didn’t last for a long time. The couple announced their divorce in September 2018 and in the next month, their son, Richard Benjamin Harrison, was born. Corey stated competitive and hectic work schedule was the reason for their divorce but the end of their marriage was an amicable one.

Accident:

Corey Harrison met a bike accident back in 2014 as he went to a shop to grab a few supplies for his birthday party. While returning home, a part of the bottom fender mount suddenly broke off and sent his bike into a tailspin at 40 mph. The 40-year-old pawn star had no choice but to jump off the bike and he did so. 

Despite the accident, Corey decided to attend the party instead of going to the hospital. After the party, he went to the ER and learned that he had a broken hand. Finally, doctors placed 8 screws and 2 plates into his injured hand. 

According to FindLaw, Corey was arrested in 2011 for hitting a deputy and a security guard inside Murray’s Saloon and Eatery. A spokesperson for the San Bernardino County Sheriff, Arden Wiltshire informed that Corey was taken to the jail and released on the next day. 

In 2014, Corey Harrison was involved in another controversy when he entered a bar in Missouri with his friends. After drinking alcohol, he urinated on a bar stool and tossed it. However, no police case was filed but he was removed from the place with immediate effect. 

On September 8, 2023, Corey Harrison was arrested again in Las Vegas as an officer in the area of Main Street and Charleston Boulevard found that Corey’s Ford pickup truck swerving between the right lane and the bicycle lane. The officer noticed an alcohol smell from Corey’s car and found signs that Harrison was drunk. 

When Corey declined a field sobriety test, he was shifted to Las Vegas city jail and he gave his blood sample as the jail’s breathalyzer not working. Corey was then arrested on a charge of driving under the influence (DUI).

In 2013, Corey purchased a property for $1 million which was a 7,069-square-foot home in Las Vegas, that sits on more than an acre of land. The property includes seven bedrooms, six bathrooms, a basement with a bar, a home theater, a swimming pool with a waterfall and water slide as well as two three-car garages and a fire pit. He listed the property for sale in 2016 and in May 2022 finally, it was sold for $2 million.

Corey Harrison owns a Dodge Challenge SRT Demon which he purchased for $80,000 in 2018. The car is reported as the fastest production car ever built with 840 horsepower and a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V-8. At that time there were only 3000 cars made for the USA.

In 2010 Corey reached 402 lbs (182.3 kg) and the doctor put him on preventative diabetes medication. According to the Pawn Star, it was a wake-up call for him. He immediately underwent gastric bypass surgery, which was a very expensive procedure at that time. Corey revealed he had to pay the bills using four credit cards and it was important because he didn’t want to suffer from diabetes.

Within the first week of surgery, Corey lost 50 lbs weight and within a year he lost almost 100 lbs weight. He never went more than 300 lbs again after the surgery according to Corey. 

Changes Corey Harrison made to lose weight:

Corey informed The People, that he controlled his feeding habits and started to eat healthy foods. He goes to the gym five days a week and for cardio, he used to box for 12 rounds a day and five days a week. He also started to continue his childhood hobby of snowboarding again which he abandoned when he was in his 20’s. Corey’s weight loss inspired his friend Chumlee to lose weight as well.
